Communication from Pepperell Christian Fellowship Concerning Coronavirus

Dear PCF community,

As you’re aware, coronavirus has been spreading around the world and is now impacting New England, with the number of cases increasing in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and elsewhere, and Governor Charlie Baker recently declaring a State of Emergency in Massachusetts. We are monitoring these developments closely and praying for those who are infected, as well as those who are working hard to help all those impacted. We’re glad that in a time when many are fearful, God sits on his throne and is full control of all these events. We want to exercise wisdom and to ensure as much as possible the safety of all members of our PCF community.

Toward that end, we encourage you to take the following basic steps recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC):

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.

According to the CDC, ‘Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.’ We encourage such folks to exercise extra caution.

At this time, we are not canceling our services or ministry gatherings. If individuals feel they must avoid large gatherings, we encourage you to listen to our Sunday sermons on the PCF website and to stay in touch with your Christian brothers and sisters on the phone, over email, or in other ways. We are ensuring that our buildings are being regularly and thoroughly cleaned.

If you are directly exposed to coronavirus please take appropriate steps to be tested and let us know so that we can protect those at PCF who are at increased risk (you may call the office at 978.433.6360). We will continue to monitor events and be in touch with you if we feel extra measures are needed to ensure the safety of folks at PCF.

Safe in the hands of the Lord of the nations,

Pastor Stephen
