Just in time for Christmas: do you know what the star of Bethlehem was?

Have you ever wondered what’s up with the star of Bethlehem? Lots of people have. How does a star point to a house? How do magi follow a star? Former Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary professor Colin R. Nicholl (one of my favorite professors when I was a student there) has come out with a fascinating and ground-breaking book in which he argues that the star of Bethlehem was a great comet. His book is called The Great Christ Comet. It’s worth reading. Dr. Nicholl’s historical and astronomical work confirms the authenticity of the gospel accounts (as well as other key New Testament passages).

Here’s a riveting interview of Colin Nicholl by Eric Metaxas, filmed in Oxford.
