How to pray as you come to the Bible
We’re doing C.P.R. this year as a church as we make God’s Word central to our lives:
Commit to a regular time in the Word
Pray as you come to the Word, and let your prayers emerge from the Word
Re-engage with Christian community so that you’re learning, applying, and living the Bible together.
If you’re looking for help in how to pray for your own soul as you approach God’s Word each day, I highly recommend a wonderful little piece from John Piper. Piper wrote this piece just about the time I arrived at Bethlehem Baptist Church 12 years ago to begin a pastoral internship, and it has profoundly influenced the way I pray for my own soul as I come to God’s Word each day. I have returned to it over and over again. To read this little piece, simply click here.
