Conducting an orchestra and being a leader
One of my favorite websites is www.ted.com. This is an amazing website full of fascinating talks by some of the world’s leading thinkers, politicians, business people, innovators, artists, and more.
On my day off last Friday, I watched a fantastic talk by Itay Talgam, an Israeli conductor, called ‘Lead like the great conductors.’
Talgam draws lessons from the leadership styles of various orchestra conductors. I found his talk stimulating and helpful for me as I think about leading a church, leading my marriage, and leading my family. In fact, I found the talk so helpful that Emma and I watched it together and then talked for half an hour about how we want to lead our family.
