John Piper on Hudson Taylor

PCF and Christ Church Townsend recently enjoyed our fifth annual weekend away, with 130+ people (the most ever) from our family of churches. It was a blessed weekend of bonfires, games, conversations, and teaching. Each year, we focus on biographies of great Christians through the ages. This year, I spoke on the life of Henry Martyn, the early English missionary to India and Persia, who translated the New Testament into Hindustani, Persia, and Arabic, and who pursued a holy life radically devoted to God. Like his hero David Brainerd, he died young.

When it comes to biographies, one of my favorite resources is the many biographical talks of John Piper, all available for free at Desiring God. I’ve benefited immensely over the years from listening to these messages, and I recommend them highly.

Here’s Piper on Hudson Taylor.
